Otter Class have been working hard on their SPAG this week! They've been exploring those tricky split digraphs - learning how two vowels can work together even when they are split apart - as well as practising forming past tense verbs
Mallard Class have been working hard on their descriptive language this week They really enjoyed using their mini whiteboards to work together to describe different settings It's amazing to see how an adjective can transform a noun!

Another look back at our World Book Day adventures Otter Class enjoyed a literary treasure hunt in our recently-revitalised library!
Our Kingfishers have been mastering the art of the hyphen They've learned how this small but mighty punctuation mark can join words together to create new meanings, like turning a 'man eating shark' into a 'man-eating shark'

Happy World Book Day 2026! Today is all about celebrating our favourite authors and discovering new worlds together Happy reading, everyone!
TOMORROW is WORLD BOOK DAY! We are inviting children to come to school dressed as their favourite book character. Costumes do not need to be shop bought - simple homemade ideas are very welcome. If your child prefers not to dress up, they may wear their school uniform as normal. World Book Day is a fantastic opportunity for children to explore stories, discover new authors and enjoy the magic of books. Children are also welcome to bring in a copy of their favourite book to share with their class We look forward to a fun and inspiring World Book Day!
Fox Class are really enjoying reading 'Hidden Figures' together They've been exploring the accomplishments of four brilliant African American women - Dorothy Vaughan, Mary Jackson, Katherine Johnson and Christine Darden - whose mathematical genius helped NASA launch the first astronauts into space It's been amazing to learn about how these women overcame both gender and racial barriers to succeed in a highly challenging STEM-based career, becoming true heroines of the Space Race
Mallard Class are diving deep into the world of animal diets! From sharp-toothed carnivores to plant-loving herbivores, they've been exploring how every creature plays a vital role in the food chain Fun fact! Did you know that the mallard is actually an omnivore? They love everything from pond weed to tiny insects!
