'With God, all things are possible.'Matthew 19:26

Welcome to Term 6 - From the 2nd June we are looking forward to receiving Reception, Year 1 and Year 6 pupils back in school. For those not yet returning to school, home learning tasks will continue to be set using Showbie during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Thursday

Good Morning

Please practice these key skills every day

Reading- the most important thing you can do
Times tables
Spellings
Mathletics
Exercise- absolutely crucial for both body and mind.
Creativity - drawing, listening to music, playing
Communication- keeping in touch with friends and family (using technology of course)

Reading

Please continue to read daily.

Take a look at this website https://home.oxfordowl.co.uk/

Lots of free ebooks that are closely linked to your childs ability (select your colour band) and similiar in style to the books in school.

Maths

Times tables

Please make sure you practice your x2 x5 x10 every day.

We use a website in class called Daily 10. https://www.topmarks.co.uk/maths-games/daily10

The children will be very familiar with this game. Great for speed practicing!

Choose Level 2, Multiplication, then select individual times tables to practice or you can choose x2 x5 x10 together.

You will need a piece of paper and a pencil to write the answers (no need to write the questions) and then you can check your answers at the end. You can choose the speed- start with 10 seconds, then try 7 seconds. You may even be able to do 5 seconds!

This site is great for all sorts of mental maths- have a play around, try out the fractions- hopefully your child will start to see the relationship between finding 1/2 and the 2 times table.

Spellings

Here are the spellings for Term 4. Some you will have already learnt- now would be a good chance for a recap. Try writing the words in full sentences (remembering your cursive handwriting and of course punctuation).

Some of the spellings are new- practice them using the look/cover/write/check technique. Again, practice writing them in sentences.
