'With God, all things are possible.'Matthew 19:26

Welcome to Term 6 - From the 2nd June we are looking forward to receiving Reception, Year 1 and Year 6 pupils back in school. For those not yet returning to school, home learning tasks will continue to be set using Showbie during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Competition time!!

Remember that we would like to enter the Calne in Bloom competition again this year.  So get cracking with making those busy, buzzy bees!  Please see details below.

Also remember that I am giving house points (HP) or Showbie points as we now call them, for tasks completed on Showbie.  Learners showing perseverance, being helpful towards others and delivering neatly set out work they are proud of can win HP / SP.  We've already had our first Showbie Star of the week:  Finley Marshall-Rolfe.  Well done Finley!

See the Showbie competition details below as well.

Watch the informative video below before you start designing your bees:

Copy and paste the link below into your search bar and your child could finger trace along with this as a warm up before practicing some handwriting.

There will be weekly spellings and children can also use the spelling sheets they received on the last day of school (not if they were self-isolating).  They can practice these spelling words with a handwriting focus for correct letter join ups and neatness.

This site offers some fantastic maths games for the children: I have sent the class code to the children on our Showbie class discussion.  Try and join and have a go at the multiplication challenge I've set.

Also, don't forget to go onto the web page for 'hit the button'.  Just type into the internet search bar at the top 'hit the button' and it is usually the first site that appears at the top of the page.  Here they can play for free to stay sharp on number bonds, times tables, division, doubling and halving.  Make sure you do this with them and prompt them to focus on times table which they aren't so comfortable with (not just the 'easy ones' as in 2, 5, and 10 x).  Also prompt them to try the ones where they hit the question....

Have fun!

Very important notice:

Key things to try and do with your child daily are:

Remember to read with your child every day.  Please help them sign into Epic books (see instructions on how to log in in our Reading folder on Showbie).  There is a big variety of lovely books on there for your children to get stuck into.

Do times tables practice daily.

Complete daily English / SPAG task.

Complete daily Maths lesson.

Exercise daily.

DO NOT stress if you don't get to it all every day.  The tasks are usually there until Friday afternoon at 4pm.  And even so, if you've had a tricky time and couldn't get to it, please don't be too hard on yourself.  Be kind to yourself.  It is difficult teaching your own children and balancing it with working at the same time.
