Beatrix Potter Class EYFS
Welcome to Potter class!
We are the EYFS class at Marden Vale and we love to learn through exploration! We have the pleasure of having 2 wonderful classrooms and a large outdoor garden where we are able to explore each day.
Our teacher is Miss Weare and our TA is Mrs Snowball.
Throughout the year, we enjoy learning about a range of different topics and have fun learning with a mix of adult led sessions and continuous provision.
At Marden Vale CofE Academy, we have taken the decision to be Early Adopters of the new framework.
This means that we will be working towards a new set of Early Learning Goals and using the new 2020 version of Development Matters to support our planning. Please find these documents below.

Summer Term 1
This term, we have been learning all about minibeasts, plants and flowers. We have been on a minibeast hunt and created our own class wormery. We also spent time planting flowers in our garden. We ended the term with a fantastic Maths day where we focused on numbers to 20!

Spring 1 and Spring 2
We spent most of these terms in Lockdown and working from home, but we didn't waste any time!
When we returned to school, we enjoyed starting Helicopter stories and exploring the natural world, looking for signs of Spring!

In term 2, we explored the story 'We're going on a bear hunt' and adapted it to retell the Christmas story! We enjoyed performing this to our parents on the playground as an alternative to our Christmas Nativity.
We had lots of fun turning our unused sandpit into a planting area too.
We had a visit from one of Santa's Elves who we looked after, and in return, he delivered a new book everyday for us to read. As a special end to the Autumn term, Santa himself came to visit while we enjoyed a delicious Christmas dinner.
