'We all look after each other'

Welcome

Welcome to Marden Vale CofE Academy!

It gives me great pleasure to welcome you to Marden Vale. We currently have 265 children on roll across 10 classes, 2 resource base rooms and a nurture room. We have fantastic resources that are used to make sure your child achieves his or her full potential. These not only include our team of hardworking staff but also our pastoral team, specialist reading recovery teacher and our fantastic outside facilities including a large outdoor stage and our very own farm!

At Marden Vale we have one school rule for everyone to follow:

'We all look after each other'

This rule is extremely important to us and we believe that if we all look after each other, at all times during the school day as well as in our lives outside school, everyone will be able to achieve their full potential in a calm, purposeful environment.

The staff at Marden Vale are all committed to ensuring children have a wide array of learning experiences, helping every child to achieve their potential and equip them with the knowledge, skills and values that will enable them to become active members of our community.

In order to ensure this happens, one of my key aims is to foster strong links between school and home. All staff are available at the end of each day and we welcome your thoughts and ideas on how we can work together to benefit your child. In addition, I am always on the school gate at the start of each day. Please take these opportunities to keep us updated on home-school developments.

In September 2015, to strengthen our drive for continued school improvement alongside our thirst for greater collaborative working, we joined the Diocese of Salisbury Academy Trust (DSAT). To find out more about DSAT please visit www.dsat.org.uk

Part of the reason for joining a Diocesan Trust was to respect and develop our church school status. We have good links with the clergy of St Mary’s Church. As well as clergy leading some worship within our school, we also hold services in church, support community events and use the church as a learning resource for our children.

I have been in post as Headteacher since September 2017 and am privileged to be leading such a caring, nurturing, hardworking school community where the children are very clearly at the heart of all we do. We had a SIAMs church school inspection during June 2016 which gave the school a ‘good’ grading. As we are in our third year of being an academy we are also expecting an OFSTED inspection this academic year.

I hope you find our website both useful and informative however do remember it will only provide you with a snap shot of what life is like at Marden Vale. The best way to find out about a school is to visit it for yourself and to meet the children and staff first hand. Please contact the school office to arrange a tour if you would like to see us in action.
