Meet the Governors

DSAT Trust Board

We are members of the Diocese of Salisbury Academy Trust and the governance of the Trust belongs to the main DSAT Board. Above is our Scheme of Delegation. This also includes our Constitution and Terms of Reference. Paper copies can be obtained through the school office or by using the contact us option on this website. Welcome to our Local Governing Board

The LGB works alongside the Headteacher and senior leadership team to set the strategic direction of the school and monitors the impact of the school improvement plan in a variety of ways. LGB members volunteer their time and are a key part of the school's leadership team.

The Standards Committee

Marden Vale CE Academy has a standards committee that works directly alongside school leaders and feeds into the overarching Governing Board, reporting on standards across the school as well as our christian distinctiveness as a Church of England school. This includes monitoring and evaluating the schools christian distinctiveness as well as academic standards, behaviour and attendance. The standards group meet with school leaders six times per year. During these meetings committee members hold school leaders to account for progress made towards achieving the set targets and actions, they go on a learning walk together to monitor standards and discuss the progress of different groups of children using the school's assessment tracking systems. Standards committee members are also actively involved in our termly monitoring visits conducted with the Academy Improvement Director.

If you feel you have the right skills to help monitor standards in the school please contact the Chair of Governors, Peter McGuigan, via the school office. Peter is more than happy to discuss what the role would involve in more detail.
