We had a lovely time walking down to the Town Hall and meeting the Mayor. We found out all about what she did and all about the Town Hall.
We all dressed up as superheroes and looked to find other superheroes around the school.
We have been looking at our special powers and have used them to try different activities to see how they worked.
We have been looking at how superheroes move and save people. We have had a go ourselves.
We had superheroes come into school and talk to us about their amazing work; first we had the guide dogs.
We have had the fire service in to tell us about how to keep safe in the fire.
Our final superhero who came to see us was a policeman. He showed us his uniform and talked about he did to help people.
As part of our superhero topic we have been looking at 'Traction Man'. We wrote our own stories and visited Winston Churchill class to share them. The year 5/6 children were very impressed with them and excited to hear more.
To complete our topic this term, we designed our own superhero masks. We asked our parents to come and join us, to help us make them. We had a lovley afternoon making the masks.
